Limited edition of 50. An ex US Navy C121C, (Lockheed L-0149F) lay forlorn and neglected at Tucson in the graveyard of hundreds of military and civil transport aircraft. She was cleaned of inches of guano from the birds that used the fuselage interior as a nesting site, and restored as Qantas first Super Constellation, VH-EAG by a dedicated group of volunteers inspired by Bob Delahunty, President of the Historic Aircraft Restoration Society. They spent hundreds of hours over several years to bring her to the superb display machine she is today. The painting shows her where she often flies as a prized and popular display featureat Australias Museum of Flight, with Bob Delahuntys Lockheed Neptune ready for take off and the Museum in the background. |
