The General Dynamics F111, two-seat strike aircraft was first flown in 1964 and featured the swing-wing concept that gives immense versatility over a wide envelope of operations. The aircraft has a maximum speed of Mach 1.2 at sea level and Mach 2,5 at 50,000ft. F111’s have operated with RAAF 6Sqdn from 1973, fulfilling many roles–primary strike, ground attack, interdiction, tactical and strategic bombing...day or night, in the worst of weather.
