Sea Furies over HMAS Sydney.

Limited edition of 50.

A pair of Hawker Sea Furies catch the sun as they bank across HMAS Sydney, beginning their turn for the down-wind leg. This is a fine action painting for a fine aircraft.
The Sea Fury has been dubbed ‘the ultimate piston-engined fighter’.The background story supplied with the painting tells of the Sea Fury’s development by Sidney Camm, and its association with the Focke-Wolf 190. The artist’s supplemetary sketches are also a reminder that Harry Hawker, an Australian, gave his name to the company that manufactured them.
RAN’s Sea Furies played a proud part in the Korean conflict. HMAS Sydney flew more operations in one a day with her Sea Furies and Fireflies than any other carrier during the war, and survived a hurricane as well as enemy action.
